Welcome to the 2nd Waveinformer contest! You must be a Subscribing Member (FREE) or Pro Member of Waveinformer to participate.

NOTE: Past finalists are not eligible for two consecutive contests, but may participate in future events.
PARTICIPATE
- Log in to your Waveformer account as a Subscriber or Pro Member
- Download the multitrack and readme file (1.14 GB) for Move It by SIGNALS (you must be logged in to access the download link)
- Re-Mix the song to the best of your ability in your DAW of choice (be sure to look at the Readme file for more details)
- Level should be -16 to -11 LUFS (Integrated)
- It’s recommended you limit peaks to -1. to -.5 dBFS (no inter-sample peaks)
- Do not use 3rd party mastering services
- Bounce a stereo wave file (48k/24bit) of your final mix labeled:
- FirstName_LastName_Track-Name_Mix.wav
- Submit your re-mix using the Waveinformer Google Form

TIMELINE
- Tracks available for download – Saturday – March 9, 2024
- Submission Deadline – Saturday – April 6, 2024
- Selection Process – April 7 – 14, 2024
- Winners Announced – April 15, 2024
JUDGING CRITERIA
- Tracks delivered in requested file formats and specifications (see above).
- Overall Balancing of Track Levels.
- Spatialization and mono compatibility.
- Treatment of the Frequency Spectrum–the overall mix isnʼt too bright/dull/etc. and elements were treated appropriately with equalization.
- Treatment of Dynamics–individual elements and the overall mix are punchy, clear, and processed appropriately with compression.
- Use of Time-based Effects including reverb and delay. This mix should sound lush and spacious without becoming muddy.
- Overall Creativity–You are encouraged to take big risks in this contest. While the other criteria are important, we are giving special consideration to a transformative mix. Possibilities include:
- Augment or replace drums.
- Use dramatic filtering when the mix calls for it.
- Add your own elements if you so desire.
- Mute elements at key moments and make adjustments to the arrangement.
- Employ expressive processing including reverb, delay, compression, saturation, and more.
- Change the tempo if you like.
SELECTION PROCESS
Winners will be chosen by the Waveinformer Team and members of the band. The winners will be announced on or about: April 15, 2024
